PRESENT SIMPLE

1- When do we use the present simple? 

    When we want to talk about routines.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

1- When do we use the present continuous?

 We use present continuous for actions happening NOW




REMEMBER:


am reading a book
You are reading a book
He is reading a book
am not reading a book
You are not reading a book.
He is not reading a book.
Am I reading a book?
Are you reading a book?
Is he reading a book?















ADVERBS

An adverb describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. We studied the ADVERBS OF MANNER.  These adverbs answer the question: HOW?


 - How is the turtle walking? It is walking slowly.
 - How are you singing? You are singing loudly.

These are the adverbs that we have studied:

But there are some adverbs that answer different questions. Look at these pictures:



Now we are going to see some adverbs that describe verbs and answer this question: HOW??

  
1- How are they reading?


They are reading sleepily
(Remember: Sleepy-sleepily)

2- How does a tortoise walk?
A tortoise walks slowly.
(Slow-slowly)

3- How is she talking (on the phone)?

She is talking (on the phone) loudly.
(Loud-loudly)

A good friend:
     - shares your interests 
     - makes you laugh
     - never argues with you
     - is somebody you can trust
     - doesn't tell your secrets
     - listens to all your problems
     - makes you feel happy
     - doesn't talk about you to other people
     - is a good listener
     - always tells you the truth 
     - never forgets your birthday.
